How do I figure out the password to my system user account if I can't remember it?

I've was gone a long time and now I can't remember my password. I'm using my friend's computer to see if anybody knows.How do I figure out the password to my system user account if I can't remember it?
if you use windows xp, continue pressing F8 after you restart and login into the admin account and go remove your password
