I having a new years party and trying to figure out want to serve ideas?

I am having new years party.. the theme is hollywood.

Id like to have pizza but my friend wants to be creative

so we are going to mostly finger foods like a buffet type thing

any ideas what we can serve and easy and cheap?I having a new years party and trying to figure out want to serve ideas?
These are only suggestions. You can pick and choose, buy and try whatever you want.

THE traditional New Year's Eve/New Year's Day ';Good-Luck-for-the-New-Year'; food is roasted pork roast with sauerkraut.

You could also have meat balls in a brown sauce or in tomato sauce with rolls or served in a plastic/styrofoam casserole.

Sliced roast beef in its natural juices with rolls.

A whole loaf of pumpernickel bread, scooped out, filled with your favorite dip; the bread cut into cubes so your guests can dip the cubes.

Any kind of baked pasta dish such as baked ziti or even lasagna [if you want to go to the expense of buying the ingredients and making it from scratch OR ordering food from a restaurant/caterer].

A tray or trays of assorted cold cuts - ham, roast beef, turkey, bologna and cheeses - American, Swiss and provolone with assorted breads, such as rolls, whole wheat, rye and white bread.

Sliced omatoes, sliced onions, lettuce, etc.

Don't forget the mustard, mayo and pickles.

You didn't mention anything about a late night/early morning breakfast:

Bagels with cream chees, jellies and butter.

Some one to make assorted styles of eggs and omelets, cheese, onions, mushrooms, western-style omelets, etc.

French toast, pancakes and/or waffles.

Syrup, butter, toppings/compotes.

Assorted juices: Apple, tomato, cranberry, orange and/or grapefruit.

Coffee and tea - with the cream, milk, lemon, sugar and artifical sweetener.

Plastic knives, forks and spoons.

Napkins, toothpicks and stirrers.

Thanks for asking your Q. I enjoyed answering it!

if you live in or near a major city find a real great Italian store and buy their homemade raviolis if they are frozen that is OK.

first make sure you have your macaroni sauce made and heated get some olive oil and heat it in a pan when it get hot take the ravioli and fry them until they are golden brown and serve with the sauce.
Since it's a Hollywood party it would be cute if you did theme foods. For example: buy a star-shaped cookie cutter and some puff pastry (in the freezer section) and cut out star shaped pastry. Top it with whatever you like (cheese, meats, jam, tomato, etc) and add another layer of pasty on top.
How about baked ziti

antipasto salad

mini pizzas

twice baked stuffed potatoes

stuffed mushrooms

veggies

swedish meatballs

sweet and sour meatballs
Below is a perfect Hollywood Meal fit for the STARS!!!

It's from an episode of my favorite television show Dinner Impossible.

Chicken with Boursin Wrapped in Prosciutto

Garlic and Herb Crusted Lamb Chops

Italian Sausage and Polenta Bites

Phyllo Wrapped Asparagus and Boursin

Pork Tenderloin with Bell Pepper Marmalade

Seafood Ceviche on Cucumber Round Topped with Green Caviar

Seafood Spheres on Crostini

Shrimp Cocktail with Guacamole

California Tri-Tip Oscar

Cornish Pasties

Crab and Sushi Rice Fritters

Smoked Salmon Pizza

Tuna Quesadilla

Vegetarian Tempura Fried Peppers

Welsh Rarebit

Seared Tuna with Hummus on Crostini

Sea Urchin Bruschetta

All these items are relatively easy to make and you could divide them amongst your friends.

See the link below for recipes.
Buy mini-rye cocktail bread, some pastrami or corn beef, swiss or prov and some slaw or kraut. Make mini-reubens and heat them in the oven just before serving. People will rave. Or buy Minh chicken egg rolls which are great. Cheers!
