Can anyone give me a ballpark figure for a bathroom remodel?

Old farmhouse bathroom, no ventilation, mold and peeling paint, plaster walls (would like replaced with sheetrock), new tub, vanity w/sink, medicine cabinet, toilet and flooring. Approximately 9' x 5'Can anyone give me a ballpark figure for a bathroom remodel?
Hello,

I am a self employed contractor, and would be happy to give you a ball park figure.

I would estimate you will not get a lot of change from around 8k this sounds like a lot of work, despite being a small room.

I live in Loudoun County VA and to be fair, the price of things in this area, is generally higher than lets say WVA .

So you have to take those types of things into consideration too. The 8k ball park figure includes all materials, and the waste disposal of your existing things.

I am using Home Depot mid range products for the installation estimate.

If you live near me, I could give you a free estimate without any obligations.

Good luck

I appriciate that people try to give an answer to this type of question. However, in an older home and depending on what part of the world you are in a 45 sq ft remodel can run between $3600 and $15,000.

Here's the qusetions you have to ask on this subject.

Are we using a true professional contractor?

Are we doing a full rip out?

Are we going to find probelms below the surface such as wood rot in structure?

Are we going to use ceremic tile of Italian Marble?

Plastic shower or tile walk in?

Clawfoot , cast iron, or fiberglass tub?

As you can see, asking this questinon opens a lot of doors that the average homeowner doesn't anticipate. Please take your time to call in a professional licensed contractor to give an estimate on your future remodel.

Please do not use online services that offer to send out 3 or 4 contractors to your home as they are not free for the contractor and have a tendancy of stealing from reputable contractors and causing prices to increase.

I hope this has been a help to you and hope your new bathroom is a dream come true.
8 - 10 thousand

*the higher end if you decided to tile the Tub/Shower and floors

**Hopefully the floors and behind the walls of the Tub/Shower are decent and not rotting? You could be opening up a can of worms with an older home

*do it right...don't buy cheap
around 8k but you also have to take into consideration the safe removal of mold and if the paint is lead based. the price could go higher but should be a good estimate.
its old house and id say you like the look of it and i dont think that new goods will fit in well my self id spend my money on older items a good cabinet for your sink would be an old dresser just cut a hole for the sink make a back splash treat the top and you have lots of drawers and if you relocate the goos neck closer to the wall by running a 90 just under the drain you can keep the drawers under the sink as for the wall id avoid using dry wall instead its just a bit more but go for the concrete walling it is just as easy to work with and you might be able to just hang it on the existing wall but first you need to wash the room down with ammonia and here is a nice idea but it is hard work if you can find an old tub you know the one that has the lip around it well cut a hole in the floor and set it in there but you will need to box it in and frame up the floor around it and insulate it if you do make sure that you have something to go between the insulation and the tub and the wall for this some egg cartons will work great and for the toilet you can easly turn your toilet into one like the ones that the tank hangs on the wall above the stool its realy not hard to do just get some piping to reach and match the hole and you might have to have a bracket to mount it to the wall the tank will bolt to it just like it will bolt to the bowl Good luck and i hope you use the tub i been wanting to do that for years if you do id love to see it
