Could you figure out how to spend your way out of debt?

Isn't supporting this stimulus plan also supporting huge taxes?

If they want to stimulate our economy, why dont they just take less from us and spend less?

This is going to be ugly forever.

What will happen during the next crisis, when weve nothing more to give?Could you figure out how to spend your way out of debt?
Dont ever expect Congress to act rationally. They play to special interests, the media %26amp; friends with bux %26amp; in Hollywood. Politicians are a majority of lawyers. Expect then lots of talk, little action, complexity %26amp; lots of cost with little return %26amp; problems won't get solved for years, decades, probably never.Could you figure out how to spend your way out of debt?
';I would love for a Liberal to tell me when Taxing and Spending has ever brought economic stimulus cause it has never happened.';

Bob already told you above.

The whole idea of a company is to borrow and spend. Borrowing is essential for business. Often a business will borrow more to make more money to pay off it's debt. Happens every day. Or at least it did when the economy was in good shape.

The whole idea of a family is to borrow for things like houses, cars and is essential for living and enjoying life (ok, but you get the idea).

The whole idea of an economic system is to keep spending up. This is because money is a horrible store of wealth in the aggregate. Consider a simple closed economy. Note that there is no way for that economy to save overall. Unless it builds huge warehouses and puts things in that someone the economy knows will be demanded in the future. Instead, economies save by purchasing assets that have an expected return. But although an individual can do that in a healthy economy, one man can save only if another person borrows, or spends. That is why spending is so important
Good question. Indeed, it is illogical for anyone to suggest that the way to drive down debt is to take on even more debt, but this is precisely what congress and the last several presidents have proposed as possible and it is what they have been doing for the last few decades.

Although it is logically impossible to reduce debt by going deeper into debt, no one in their right mind would accuse the US government of behaving in a logical or responsible manner.
Actually, contrary to the recent conservative re-write of history, we did spend our way out of the first Great Depression. Whether it was The New Deal, which most economist credit with helping ease it, or WWII, as the new conservative version of history supports, it was massive government spending that got us out of the depression. Read carefully and you will find as many economist saying that this recovery package is not big enough a there are those who say it is too much. Bottom line...the conservative Reaganomics/tinkle down got us into this one, don't expect more of the same to pull us out of it.
i can't but the democratic congress is telling us that is how we will do it. making us more dependent on china....not a good thing!

this 'stimulus' won't create that many jobs but will add to the power of the government and will create taxes that will never be revoked.

the Dem's are using fears to get their christmas wish list that has been denied them for forty years.

this will affect us for generations, if it is passed as is.
Without debt, the U.S. economy would not exists.

What do you think ';owning a home'; is???

A DEBT!

Our economy is like fire and taxes are water. We are supposed to get taxed more when things are going good. But unfortunately, Mr. Bush and associates didn't keep to this rule of economics. Now the fire has burned out of control melting everything down.
Spending needs to be cut in some areas, but in other areas, it has to continue. There's a lot of excess spending in areas that it doesn't need to be, like Iraq for instance.

We were all going to be taxed anyway, no matter who got into the White House, because of the last 8 years. You don't have to support it, but you do have to accept it.
Looking at history, budgeting is something that our Government has no idea how to do, Federal, state and local. It does no good to have a so called stimulus package if you don't know how to budget.
Let's see. I'm in debt up to my *ss now so I should go get another six or seven credit cards to be able to pay my monthly payments for my extravagant lifestyle. I'm down with that, you bet. If Obama can do it - so can I.
Liberalism is a mental disorder.

I would love for a Liberal to tell me when Taxing and Spending has ever brought economic stimulus cause it has never happened.
No, but that is certainly the path the democrats will be taking. Tax the wealthy into submission and spend all that you can.
Yes, because tax cuts are going to solve all of our problems....
Liberalism is the instrument of our demise.
Great question

It has never worked for me....
keep giving me credit cards to pay the bills on my other ones with.
You don't want the $270 billion in tax cuts?
If that worked I'd be rich!!
