How easy is it to pick up Figure Skating?

I am an average skater, i cant do tricks or anything but i can ice-skate basically. How easy is it to pick up Figure Skating?
It's not that hard to become a figure skater but it depends on how ';into it'; you are. Enroll in an 8 week Learn to Skate class at your local rink. If your still interested, ask around to find a private lesson coach. make sure she/he is PSA rated, USFS membership (most do) and find out how long they skated and to what level they completed (If they competed at the Novice, Junior or Senior level in Freestyle they will know more and have better teaching techniques...usually) A word of advice, don't take from the Skating director, they usually have too many students and too much to do to give you a quality lesson. Private lessons usually run anywhere from $10-$40 per 1/2 hour (depending on the coach and your location) As long as you work at it you will probably learn all your single jumps in a year.

Hope that helps! How easy is it to pick up Figure Skating?
It definitely is not easy.

I have been skating for about two years. You need flexibility, and need to learn basics before you actually start figure skating. I wouldn't know about your skating personally, but if you really want to skate I suggest going into group lessons or even private to see for your self (:
Probably not!!

ive discovered that anything you want to do you have to work at it.

If you watch anyone that is good at Figure Skating they probably practice lots but all good things are worth the effort so stick at it and you'll get there!!
Figure Skating is very fun but not easy, it takes allot of determination and willpower. I strongly advise that if you want to start doing tricks on the ice, hire somebody that knows what there doing to coach you.
It varies on how talented you are, how good you want to be, and how dedicated you are. I would say not very easy for most people...
watch blades of glory, gaz michael michael will show you how its really done!
