What are the grades for figure skating and at what level can you start competitions?

The grades for figure skating are as follows:

Skate UK programme:

Levels 1-10. Beginner course.

Triple-Tier programme:

Bronze, Silver and Gold. Beginner/ Intermediateish.

NISA Levels:

1- about 12 (not exactly sure how many there are but around NISA 8 is VERY advanced stuff.). Intermediate- Advanced.

You can normally enter mini-competitions at a very early level, if your local club holds them. 'Real' competitions start at 'Gold'. (These are called 'open' competitions and are held all over the country).

Hope this helps, good luck xWhat are the grades for figure skating and at what level can you start competitions?
