Can someone help me figure out how to get more calcium?

I don't know if im getting enough calcium. I don't drink milk, but will eat it with other stuff (cottage cheese, ice cream, cereal; basically i just dont drink it plain). But i don't have to much dairy anyway. I know dark green veggies are great sources of calcium, but how much calcium of spinach lettuce and green peppers would one need? Can someone help me figure out how to get more calcium?
You really should drink milk. Milk is very good for you. It tastes good, and it's very nourishing. I was brought up drinking milk and I have never broken a bone in my life. I highly suggest you start drinking milk. If you don't like the taste, you can make chocolate milk. Can someone help me figure out how to get more calcium?
It's recommend that adults 19-50 get 1,000 milligrams of calcium a day.

Broccoli (1 cup raw) is only 4% of your daily calcium needs. The cottage cheese I get (low fat 1%) is only 10% of your daily calcium needs.

(Whereas 1 cup of skim milk is 30% of your calcium needs.)

Green Pepper (1 cup) is only 2% of your calcium needs.

Spinach (frozen) is 8% of your calcium needs.

You could try fortified soy milk. The soy milk I use is Soy Dream Vanilla Improved Flavor (very tasty) and 8 ounces is 40% of calcium needs.

Other than that, a calcium supplement is good..... but you also need magnesium to transport the calcium. If you have 1,000 mg of calcium then you need 500 mg of magnesium to transport it to cells.
I'd say eat a good sized portion of it. I use to have a problem similiar to this and what I did is that I either just made some spinnach soup, chicken stuffed with spuinnach, etc, etc, etc. Spinnach soup is a great way to get calcium, and though it sounds nasty, it tastes surprisingly good. Don't eat lettuce, your not going to get much out of that, trust me.

Go to the health shop, and buy a good brand of calcium supplement, discuss your problem with a naturapath. Sometimes they are free to talk to in pharmecies.
Mammals don't need milk once they have been weened off their mothers breast.

I really don't know how much calcium in leafy green veges but if you want to get more calcium, just take an extra calcium supplement from your nearest chemist. That way you will be sure that you have enough.
